Summary

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use are a contract between you and PolicyCON (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’). They emphasise the framework that regulates your use of PolicyCON’s services and products (‘PolicyCON’). Please contact our customer service with queries, concerns, or comments about these terms or our offerings.

By interacting with PolicyCON, you signify your acceptance of these Terms. They remain used throughout your usage of PolicyCON and include all components within this document and those in the Privacy Policy, Publisher Agreement, and Subscriber Agreement. If you do not concur with the following conditions, your access and use of PolicyCON will be restricted.

You confirm and assure that you possess the legal capacity to enter into their contractual relationship. If you are not of legal age, you warrant that you have received consent from your guardian or parent to access PolicyCON and that they, too, accept these Terms on your behalf. If you are acting on behalf of an entity or organisation, you guarantee that you possess the authority to consent to these Terms and bind said entity or organisation to them.

Content Usage

Creating and Managing Your PolicyCON Account

Your PolicyCON account is your pathway to a dynamic community of ideas and content. To ensure a respectful and secure user environment, we have created detailed guidelines for account management and creation. We empower you to read and follow these instructions carefully.

  1. Account Security and User Responsibility

The confidentiality of your account and the protection of your personal data are of great significance. By maintaining the privacy of your account details and password, you play a focal role in improving the security of your engagement within PolicyCON.
  2. Providing Accurate Information

During registration, we seek accurate, up-to-date and complete information about yourself. This makes you easily identifiable and helps us tailor your experience to your preferences.
  3. Purpose of Usage

PolicyCON is created for organisations and individuals. You must interact with the platform for legitimate or personal organisational purposes. Usage on behalf of third parties is forbidden.
  4. Account Transfer

Transferring your PolicyCON account to another person without our prior written permission is prohibited. This limitation is in place to prevent unauthorised account transfers that could possibly compromise security.
  5. Account Name Selection

Your chosen account name carries importance. Choose a name that you have the right to use that reflects your identity. Impersonation or using someone else’s name with the intent to deceive is strictly forbidden. PolicyCON retains the discretion to cancel or reject account names that breach these guidelines.

Following these directions facilitates a respectful and safe community within PolicyCON. These measures enhance your individual experience and collectively shape the platform’s integrity. We value your commitment to upholding these principles.

Content Posting and Users Right

You retain full ownership of your work when you share your creative doings on PolicyCON. This principle is vital: any original content you post, share, store and upload on our platform remains your intellectual property, protected by copyright and other relevant intellectual property laws.

This includes multiple forms of content, including newsletters, text, subscriber lists, and images uploaded to your subdomain on PolicyCON. It encompasses the information you provide to create a PolicyCON account, your username, and any comments you make on discussion boards.

Such content, collectively called ‘Posts’, comes with guidelines to ensure a legal and respectful environment for all users:

  1. Respect Intellectual Property Rights

Your Posts must uphold the rights of others, including those of PolicyCON. It is crucial not to copy, modify, exploit, or reproduce content owned by others unless you have obtained explicit consent from the content’s rightful owner. By uploading content, you warrant that the content is original, you are the sole owner of the content, and that you have not infringed on any third-party intellectual property rights. Any breach of this obligation will constitute a breach of contract, giving the respective party who feels violated, the right to pursue appropriate legal action against you.
  2. Prohibition of Illegal Computer Activities

You are prohibited from using any means or tools, including but not limited to unauthorized access, intrusion, scanning, probing, interference, or destruction of the PolicyCON platform, its servers, networks, databases, or any related computer systems, services, or devices.
You are not permitted to use any automated tools (such as robots, crawlers, scripts, etc.) to access, collect, scrape, copy, or otherwise use the content on the PolicyCON platform, unless you have obtained express written permission from PolicyCON.
  3. Limited License to PolicyCON

To enable and showcase other users' enjoyment of your Posts, you grant PolicyCON specific rights. These rights include the ability to translate, reproduce, and format your Posts to adapt them for optimal viewing on multiple devices and platforms. For example, we may adjust the formatting of your newsletter for ideal viewing on various devices.
Please note that any modifications beyond these technical adaptations will only be made with your explicit consent, as outlined in the Publisher Agreement. This ensures consistency and respects your ownership and control over your original content.
  4. Public Sharing

PolicyCON may offer live streams, podcasts, or other broadcast-style content. Subscribers accessing or distributing this content must adhere to standards of fairness, impartiality, and responsible conduct, as regulated by the Communications Act 2003.
When you share a Post with fellow PolicyCON users, you grant PolicyCON the license to distribute, supply, and perform your Post to ensure it is available and functional within the platform.
    User Permissions:

These permissions are aligned with the functionalities provided by the platform and ensure that your content is protected while allowing for user engagement and interaction. PolicyCON has developed a system that encourages transparent and constructive feedback. Instead of simply clicking a “disagree” icon, users are required to provide a written explanation of what they disagree with. This system promotes thoughtful engagement and prevents deceptive, harmful, or abusive reviews from being posted.
  5. Subscribers: Can view and share the content within the platform. Subscribers cannot modify or copy the content unless explicitly allowed by the publisher.
  6. Publishers: Can view, comment on, and share content. Publishers do not have the right to modify or copy content shared by others unless granted explicit permission.
  7. Duration and Ownership

The licenses you grant are worldwide and do not affect your ownership of the content. While PolicyCON retains the right to use your content under these licenses, your ownership rights remain intact.
It is significant to acknowledge that PolicyCON reserves the right to remove any content from the platform without notice if it is deemed to breach these terms or infringe upon intellectual property rights. Publishers have the ability to remove their own content if they choose. This means that although PolicyCON has a license to use the content, it does not have an everlasting license if the publisher decides to delete it. These guidelines uphold the principle that responsible and respectful sharing improves the PolicyCON community and benefits everyone involved.
